Parent Governors

How do you become a parent governor?

Parent Governors are an important part of our Board of Governors. It is a rewarding role. They are a vital representative voice and often add a lot to the skills and knowledge within the Board of Governors.

We support all Parent Governors with a full induction process. There is also access to regular training and online support. All Governors are member of the National Governors Association. These help by providing impartial help and access to a wealth of information and resources.

Parent Governors are elected when a vacancy becomes available. They are elected by parents from our school community.

To qualify as a Parent Governor we ask for nominations from parents with children at Raeburn Primary. If no nominations are forthcoming, we will accept nominations from any parent who has a child at a Wiral School.

The school will formally advertise when a vacancy becomes available, making clear the skills that the Governing Body need.

If we receive more than one nomination a parent election process will take place.

Our current Parent Governors are:

  • Holly Davis
  • Debbie Tipton
