What we do
Before and After School

During Before and After School sessions the children have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities. These include art and craft, cooking, dough, clay, drawing, painting, using the computer (with filtered internet access), board games, music, role-play. We provide ideas and organise some activities, however we do like the children to make their own choice, whilst we simply provide the resources that are needed. We encourage a sense of belonging, of co-operation, of helping and looking after each other. We try to play outside as often as we can, where the children can join in team games or play with a variety of outdoor equipment. Sometimes the children just want to ‘chill out’ with a book or chat with their friends. Sometimes they just need space to play their own imaginary and fantasy games. Every session includes a snack. We try to have a healthy eating policy at the Centre but we do have ‘treats’, often items that the children have prepared themselves.

Holiday Club

Holiday Club allows children the same facilities and freedom as Before and After School, but each one has a theme, with some organised activities relating to it, including Forest Schools.  Again there are opportunities for the children’s own activities to be developed. The main aim of our Holiday Club is to have fun in a safe and caring environment.  Old clothes are recommended as some activities can turn out very messy! Most Holiday Clubs include at least one trip.  You will be notified in advance of these and although we often have to make an extra charge (for entrance fees & transport) we do keep this to a minimum. A snack is provided both in the morning and the afternoon but children need to bring a packed lunch with a drink.

Additional Information

As soon as we receive your application for a Before or After School place your child’s name is added to the appropriate waiting list. We will notify you as soon as a place becomes available.  We may not be able to provide a place in every session required at the one time but hope that you will eventually obtain all the sessions that you need.

If you indicate that you wish your child to attend Holiday Club their name will be added to our email address list. You will then receive details of all our Holiday Clubs and can apply for single days (full or half day) or whole weeks as required. Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
